Alleged arson at Vanguard Road brings police appeal

vanguard rd signPolice are appealing for information following an alleged arson attack outside a block of flats in Vanguard Road, near Mousehole Lane.

Police say a suitcase was set alight near the front door of the block of flats at about midnight on Saturday, October 5. 

One of the residents had earlier reported receiving threatening messages.

“If you know anything about this fire, or if you were in the area and saw anything suspicious, please contact Bitterne CID on 101 and ask to speak to me,” DC Hewitt said.

Four women have been arrested and bailed pending further police enquiries.
