Batten down the hatches

Rough weather is on the way, according to forecasters, so it’s time to batten down the hatches.

It’s expected to become increasingly windy overnight Saturday, with rain moving eastwards through the evening and possibly blustery showers at night.

Sunday is expected to be “very windy” with gusts up to about 44 mph during the evening and heavy rain, although there may be sunny intervals and perhaps thundery showers in the afternoon. However some forecasts predict gusts of up to 80 mph in coastal areas!

The outlook for Monday is for possibly more damaging winds and heavy rain followed by blustery showers. Tuesday is expected to be less windy, colder, with sunshine and showers, before more persistent rain on Wednesday.
