Flashback to flooding at Riverside Park in 2008.
Updated A Yellow Alert for yet more rain and strong winds has been issued by the Met Office for virtually all of Friday, and the Environment Agency has issued a Flood Warning (meaning "Flooding is expected. Immediate action required") for tidal areas of the Itchen Estuary. Flooding could affect local properties given a very high Itchen tide expected between around 11.15am and 12.15pm on Friday.

Some areas of St Denys,  Woodmill and Mansbridge are at risk of flooding should water levels rise, as well as others on the Itchen flood risk map.

You can check the Environment Agency’s flood warnings here, or call Floodline on 0845 988 1188 for more information.

A further Yellow Alert has been issued by the Met Office for rain and wind on Sunday, January 5 from 9am – midnight.
