The conference is a learning and trading event, and will include speakers including council leader Simon Letts, as well as workshops and various stalls.
“As individuals we can have so many choices, but when we become members of a co-operative, through our collective strength give a real boost to our own choice, our well-being and the local economy. Having grown over 20% since the 2008 crash, co-operatives and credit unions are proving to be successful in hard times,” said Co-op City Co-ordinator John Merritt.
The Co-op City’s mission is “to provide the education, marketing and infrastructure support that will enable co-operatives to account for 25% of local economic turnover in the SO postcode area by 2035”.
