Airport's revised plan published

flybe jetBAA’s revised masterplan to expand Southampton Airport has been published. The plan predicts passenger numbers will grow from 1.84 million in 2005 to 3.05 million by 2015, and to 6 million by 2030 - no significant change to numbers predicted in the draft plan that went to consultation, and which was widely opposed locally. A second terminal building is still a possible scenario for the future, and the plan assumes the Chickenhall Lane Link Road will be built between 2010 - 2015.

There has already been condemnation of the plan by campaigners in the local media - see the BBC  and Daily Echo sites for coverage. John Denham MP also responded to the plan - see his statement here.

The summary plan is available for download from BAA's site here and the full plan here. Read more airport expansion news on bitternepark.info here.
