Bitterne Park elects Tory

John InglisLabour has held on to control of Southampton City Council, but Bitterne Park ward remains Conservative after the re-election of John Inglis (left), at Thursday’s local election. 'Read more' to see how we voted.

 

Inglis won the seat polling 1191 votes. Labour’s Trevor Cooper was second with 980, and UKIP’s Adrian Cook took third place with 810 votes.

Lindsi Bluemel for The Green Party beat the Lib Dems taking fourth place with 346. The Lib Dems polled 296, Independent Ann MacGillivray 110 and Linda Boulton for Trade Unionists and Socialists Against Cuts took 42 votes.

We reckon, more or less, 2584 voted for parties other than Conservative, 1191 voted Conservative – and the majority 7154 didn't vote for anyone at all.
