It’s Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event on Friday (Sept 26) where people across the UK hold coffee mornings to raise money for those living with cancer, and there are events locally you can be part of.

There’s a coffee afternoon from 2 - 4pm in Bitterne Park at Cobbett Road Library (SO18 1HL), while at Central Library (SO14 7LW) the Macmillan Library Project’s own event takes place, with refreshments and cakes for sale, along with information about all aspects of cancer, from 10am - 12noon.

First Southampton has donated £21,000 worth of advertising space on its local buses to raise awareness of the event, and staff at the Empress Road bus depot will be fundraising with their own coffee morning and dress down day on Thursday 25.
