A bike was stolen from outside the Butcher’s Hook on Wednesday, October 15 at around 4.20pm.
It had been locked to the lamppost outside the micro pub.
A person was spotted slightly earlier fiddling with the bike, but they were taken to be bike’s owner. Shortly afterwards it was seen being pedalled down Whitworth Crescent.
The stolen cycle is described as a white racing bike with red tyres, extended white rims and an unusual saddle.
We understand there was an attempted theft of another bike a few weeks ago during the day on a Sunday, from the only public bike parking stand at the Triangle. Although not taken, the expensive bike was left severely damaged in an apparent attempt to get it away from its lock.
