Fancy a frosty festive treat this Christmas? Why not take the kids along to the Nuffield’s new adaptation of The Snow Queen which opens on November 27, and which promises to melt your heart.
The popular Danish tale tells the story of the wicked Snow Queen’s attempt to kidnap a young boy named Kai in the frozen north, and his stumpy, grumpy best friend Gerda’s quest to find him. Along the way, this unlikely hero meets new friends who help her, and discovers the truth behind the mysterious Snow Queen and why she lives locked up in solitude in her Icy Palace.
This new, enchanting and humorous adaptation is written by Georgia Pritchett, a multi-award winning comedy writer who writes for Miranda, The Thick of It and Veep. It stars Rob Castell (We will Rock You), Joyce Greenaway (Moments; Truth and Reconciliation), Jessie Hart (Arthur and George, ITV), and Natasha Jayetileke (Hollyoaks; The Lion King, West End).
