‘At the heart of Bitterne Park’: Online petition to save Cobbett Road launched

cobbett rd library petition screenshotAn online petition asking the council to ‘Save Cobbett Road Library’ and safeguard it against future cuts has been launched.

The petition describes the library as having been at the heart of Bitterne Park and surrounding areas for 75 years, because it’s not only a thriving library, but is also used by 20+ community groups, from toddler and art to Tai Chi and business groups.

“It is a haven for people of all ages, and we have many vulnerable people coming in to a friendly, safe space, with fantastic staff who know many people by name,” it continues.

The petition can be signed online here.
