Local websites portswood.info and bitternepark.info have been piloting the use of a 'News Drone' which could revolutionise hyperlocal journalism practice.
Progress never sleeps on the Hyperlocal News Information Superhighway and at the bitternepark.info and portswood.info Hyperlocal News Centre we're proud of our reputation for living at the technological cutting edge [Shurley shome mishtake? Ed.]
To emphasise this position at the apex of innovation – and to avoid having to ever leave the building – we're pleased to reveal that recent tests mean we hope we may be able to announce the imminent launch of the bitternepark.info & portswood.info Hyperlocal News Drone in the not too distant future [Get on with it!].
We now anticipate that we will shortly commence live streaming traffic updates and providing on-the-spot footage of breaking hyperlocal news stories - provided they aren’t taking place anywhere near people, vehicles, buildings, the flight path or livestock of course.
So don't forget to duck wave when you see the News Drone going about its merry news gathering business.
• To help cover costs we're also testing its use as a delivery drone, so if you've recently ordered a Bitterne Parker T-shirt, please leave your upstairs window open to ensure your order arrives safely.
