In time for summer outings, a new guide featuring walks from railway stations in the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership area, including information about places to visit, history and travel, launches in June.
The 88-page guide includes 38 walks from railway stations in the Three Rivers area, which covers routes from Salisbury to Eastleigh, St Denys to Wimbledon and all stations in between by the Avon, Itchen and Test rivers.

All walks featured start and finish at stations, and vary in length and difficulty from half a mile to eight miles. But all have the theme of water, and feature many of the area's brooks, streams and rivers.
The guide, which was put together in collaboration with Transition Southampton, the My Journey sustainable travel campaign, other authorities and various volunteers, and compiled by Dr Clare Diaper, is now on sale at £5 per copy. Proceeds will be reinvested into the production of other publications aimed at encouraging people to travel by train and visit the area.
