Here's hoping for sunshine on Sunday (August 16), when the first free Bandstand LIVE! takes place in Palmerston Park from 12pm-6pm showcasing "the best of local music within a one day festival experience with a mixture of great music, great food, and culture" – according to the website.
Music acts for August 16 confirmed so far include:
- Afrodites (from GoodVibe and Da Girls Show)
- Daniel Eagle
- Just Millie
- Multiple Currency (part of 'Base Camp')
- Owen Hackett
- Ken Wood and the Mixers
"For the opening event, on Sunday 16th August, Bandstand LIVE! will combine with ‘Celebrating our communities’; an event organised by Stepacross and the Newtown Residents Association. Come along and enjoy our diverse society, watch additional arena entertainment and music from different cultures, and sample different and amazing types of food," adds Discover Southampton.
There are also opportunities for smaller stall holders at the events - details here.
More Bandstand LIVE! events are also planned for later in the year, on September 13 and October 11, and there are hopes to run further events in 2016.
Bandstand LIVE! is a collaboration between Matt Bunday Events Ltd, Voice FM Radio and supported by Southampton City Council.
