Repair Café – the place for repairs and advice for broken portable things – celebrates its first anniversary at Freemantle on Saturday (Oct 3) with a free Jean Genie workshop and Art-cycle exhibition.
Repair Cafés enable people to take along anything portable, from electrical items to jewellery, bikes and computers in the hope that volunteers can mend them.
On Saturday the Jean Genie workshop offers a chance to make something new out of an old pair of jeans, while the Art-cycle exhibition displays recycled and upcycled art from around the world.
And of course there's also tea, coffee, homemade cake and conversation on offer.
