Elderly Macnaghten Road man burgled as he watched TV

macnaghten road sign 460An elderly Macnaghten Road resident was burgled on Sunday night while he sat watching television.

We understand intruders entered the man's house through a window, went upstairs and took his wallet and £100.

He later discovered a lockable box that contained no valuable items other than family paperwork was taken, which the owner would very much like returned. He's worried it will just be dumped

A neighbour commented: "He has now lost his piece of mind in the house he was born in. Scumbags."

Anyone with information can contact the police by phoning PC Matt Blake on 101 quoting reference 44150397990, or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Updated with details of stolen box and police contact details.
