“I think it's a really lovely excuse for people to gather,” said Helen East, pastor with Vineyard Church and one of the organisers of this year's Christmas in the Triangle event, which saw crowds descend on Bitterne Park to celebrate the season. And not only did it not rain: as our video shows, organisers somehow even managed to arrange snow!
Most Triangle traders took part in some way, from organising a bottle shop at The Butcher's Hook micropub to reindeer cupcake making at The Songbird, free bike repairs at ride ride and a Santa's grotto at Robert Fry's photography studio
“I think there's a really brilliant sense of community in Bitterne Park, and sometimes you just need to organise a few events to attract people,” said Helen East
“Particularly talking to the traders this last week, things have been really flat for them, so this is a great boos for them, in terms of building community, and trade, and just gathering to celebrate Christmas.”
And to celebrate this community because it's a wonderful place to live!”
