In the 2015 Southampton City Council local elections, David Fuller held the contested Bitterne Park seat for the Conservatives, beating the Labour candidate Andrew Godsell by 689 votes. UKIP came third, perhaps riding high on the party's increased profile during the general election. Interestingly, there is no UKIP local election candidate in Bitterne Park ward this year.
