A resident of Bitterne Park since 2009, having moved to Southampton from New Zealand when her husband secured a job at the General Hospital, Elaine has become well known among local residents and musicians.

She's been writing her unique style of personal and emotive songs on her guitar and performing all over the world since leaving her family home in Cornwall to study languages at university.

Having had a break to spend time with her young children, Elaine returned to the stage in 2015 in collaboration with another well-known local, classically-trained cellist and good friend Judi Galbraith. Together they performed to 600 people in the grand final of OpenMic UK 2015 at Birmingham NEC and were approached by various industry pros as a result.

Elaine's original song 'A Little Too', which you can hear using the player below, was also a finalist in the acoustic and folk category of the UK Songwriting Contest 2015. It led to an interview and airplay on BBC Radio Solent.

Elaine has performed regularly with Judi in Bitterne Park, Southampton and Winchester over the past year, including sold-out gigs at The Butcher's Hook and The Songbird Café.

She's now secured a place at this year's Wickham Festival, and says the release of her EP is "in celebration of a fantastic year".

You can hear her songs live, and even take away a signed copy of her EP on Saturday at Talking Heads.
