Fishy family activities at Riverside Park

riversideparkinautumn1Many activities to enjoy with your family are promised at Riverside Park on Saturday, May 21, marking 'World Fish Migration Day'.

The University of Southampton's International Centre for Ecohydraulics Research (ICER) will be setting up a stand to showcase their work on the environmental impacts on fish, according to the World Fish Migration Day website.

The idea is to show work carried out by researchers, raise awareness about environmental issues impacting fish, such as feeding ducks alternatives to bread, and offer opportunities to look at smaller creatures living in freshwater.

There are also further attractions for children.

The stand will be staffed by researchers and students, and the public can drop by and ask questions.

It will be nearer the Woodmill Lane end of Riverside Park, running from 10am until 4pm.
