Cllr Satvir Kaur, the Southampton council cabinet member responsible for libraries, gets involved in Noisy Oyster’s puppet show ‘Plain Bob’ at the all new Cobbett Hub and Library on Wednesday (June 1).

Social Care in Action (SCA) and Unexpected Places will together be running the library now that council funding has stopped, and promise new activities and facilities alongside more traditional library services.

Speaking at a launch event during half term last week, which reportedly saw hundreds visit during the day to see a puppet show and take part in other activities, Ruth Marriott, Chief Executive of SCA Group said:

“The key thing about this place is you can feel it’s got a heart. It’s a really peaceful building when you come into it, and I think that’s a real opportunity to develop community activity for everyone in the community.”

Monday: 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm
