Independent bookshop October Books says a new team has formed to take it forward following an appeal earlier in the year for people to take over.
The shop says Joey, Clare, Jaquie and Jess, pictured, are “perfect to take October Books forward” as paid staff members, who will work alongside volunteers.

Existing members of the co-operative want to stand down for various reasons, including retirement, emigration and childcare commitments.
In 2014 October Books launched an appeal to and ‘help it through a sticky patch’ and raise £6,000 to renew its lease. The Bookseller reported that the shop was saved from closure “following an outpouring of public support”.
