The man suffered a small puncture wound to his lower back, which resulted in hospital treatment. Police say he won’t suffer long-term effects.

He didn’t see his assailant, who ran away quickly.

Police appealed for witnesses from anyone living in the area or passing through, and said they wanted to “remind residents to be alert, but not alarmed and report anything suspicious”.
