Based at Belgrave Industrial Estate in Swathling, The Scrapstore said in a bulletin:

“Southampton Scrapstore has been operating in Southampton for over 25 years, providing community groups, schools and many others with a useful resource, whilst stopping tonnes of useful materials going to waste.

“Since our move to the new site in Portswood over five years ago, membership has fallen and our paid staff and volunteers have been struggling to keep the store financially viable. We have survived by using reserves, which are now almost all gone, and so we are now asking for your help in helping us to continue for another 25 years.”

It’s also on the lookout for volunteers, and for people to make Christmas cards to raise funds. There’s more information about all this and more in its bulletin which you can read here.
