Southampton’s ninth Film Week runs from November 4 - 13, offering a range of screenings, workshops, events and competitions for filmmakers and film lovers at various venues across the city.
The event, which is organised by Southampton charity City Eye, kicks off on Friday evening (Nov 4) with the English premiere of documentary Songs For Madagascar at Turner Sims. The film closely follows the creative work of a group of musicians and shows their encounters with local communities.

It’s followed by a discussion with director Cesar Paes, producer Marie-Clemence Paes and Professor Ulrike Meinhof from the University of Southampton.
