Autism Friendly Chill-Out Sessions at Southampton Central Library

central librarySouthampton City Libraries are running a series of autism friendly sessions in the seminar rooms of the Central Library, Civic Centre, SO14 7LW.

The next session will be held from 11.00 am until 1.00 pm on Saturday (Dec 3) Update: and there's also a session on Saturday, February 4 2017.

Blinds will be drawn and there will be low lighting and comfortable bean bags. The aim is to create a calm space for families to use while they access all of the resources and services available in the library.

As well as books, a range of sensory equipment will be available in the rooms. A social story and shoe park will be on hand, and families are encouraged to bring chews and ear defenders, pushchairs and any other aids that they find helpful.
