On Friday (Dec 9) The Old Chemist will be opening its doors for its inaugural ‘Opposite-The-Pub Quiz’.
This free event is run by members of Southampton Vineyard Church, and billed as a way to gear up for Christmas.
The quiz itself is apparently put together by a man with “a decade's worth of experience of writing pub quizzes”, and organisers say it “will provide you with an entertaining alternative to late night Christmas shopping”.

There will be prizes, snacks, and the chance to show off your intellect.
The event is BYOB, “but fear not, as the marvellous Butcher's Hook is just opposite, selling carry outs for your convenience”.
