Bitterne Park Primary School's Christmas tree, pictured, came first in the city-wide contest which saw schools submit themed trees to be displayed in the Civic Centre foyer over Christmas - with the winning tree awarded a position in the Mayor's Parlour.
The pupils' futuristic tree was made from recycled materials.
"Pupils at Bitterne Park Primary are united, but different, individual colourful and creative – much like the cups on our tree. It is made from 100% recycled materials and, as you walk around it, every new angle reveals an exciting and personalised visual treat," read the tree's description.
The trees this year were judged by the Right Worshipful Mayor of Southampton, Councillor Cathie McEwing and Southampton City Council Chief Executive, Dawn Baxendale.
The three prize-winning schools have been invited to attend a ceremony in the Mayor’s Parlour on Thursday (Dec 15) with all entries receiving a gift voucher.
St Mary’s Primary School's tree was in second place, and Sinclair Primary School third, with two extra ‘Highly Commended’ awards won by Holy Family Catholic Primary School and Maytree Nursery & Infants schools.
