A campaign’s been launched to get The Delay’s track ‘Valentine’ to number one in time for Valentine’s Day, to promote a fundraising effort for band singer and Bitterne Parker Greg Gilbert’s medical treatment.
Greg has stage four bowel cancer.
Although over £150,000 has already been raised towards treatment not available on the NHS via a crowdfunding campaign, it has emerged that more cash is needed, and there’s now a £250,000 target.
There’s also a #Give4Greg fundraiser at The Brook on February 14, with Birdpen, Dead Rabbits, The Novatones, Sean McGowan, and Band of Skuls DJ-ing. Tickets are £10 available here.
Supporters are being urged to download Valentine between February 3-9 to try to top the charts; this Facebook page gives download links.
