Dolphin 'very much open' – despite rumours

“No. The pub isn’t closed,” landlord Stephen Wicken, pictured, told bitternepark.info. “We had to close for a week while they did some drainage work; Enterprise [the pub’s owners] have tackled the drainage problem as there was a collapsed drain underneath the pub.”

He said this had meant that the local had had to close for the first week in February while the problem was fixed, and that the kitchen has to remain closed for another “couple of weeks” while a final issue is resolved.

Then, he said, everything will be back to normal.
