K2 Party in the Park
Southampton’s
annual series of K2 youth festivals continue in Hoglands Park this
weekend with thousands of young people expected to turn out to enjoy
MCs, DJs, bands, break-dancing and graffiti art and much more.
Organisations from across the city will also be attending to give out advice and information on health and well-being for the city’s younger citizens.
K2 has being taking place in the city centre for the past three years and draws massive crowds to see Southampton’s young people showcasing their talent alongside professional DJs, musicians and performers. So far this year K2 has attracted more than 7,000 people to the festivals, which have supported over 20 acts with partnership of 60 local organisations supporting young people, including Southampton City Council’s Youth Services and Southampton Voluntary Service’s Safe in Sound Project.
The festival this weekend will build on the success of the first two K2 events of the year, which happened in May and June, and continue to offer local young people a platform to show case their talent on two stages.
Community radio station Unity 101 will also be braodcasting live from the event.
K2 takes place between 12midday and 6pm on Saturday July 7, followed by the fourth and final event on Saturday August 4.
