It opened as Moor’s in February, but the shop now appears to have been shut for around three weeks.

“He couldn’t make it work,” said landlord Graham Cotton, who runs the next door bakery, and who added that he couldn’t now “hold out any longer for another butcher” to take on his premises.

“The shop’s just going to be let to whoever wants it, now. I can’t do without the income.”

In our 2015 survey, a butcher’s shop came top when we asked which businesses our website readers would most like to see start up at the Triangle.

The shop had been empty since 2015, when Garson’s Quality Meats finally closed following sporadic opening towards the end of 2014.

We couldn’t reach Ricky Moor for comment, and the business’s Facebook page appears to have been deleted.
