The Joiners in St Mary's won NME’s Britain’s Best Small Venue accolade back in 2013 and has “played host to many up-and-coming bands”.

The 200-capacity building is apparently subject to an “all repairing” lease meaning the leaseholder is responsible for the wear and tear of the building – now over 100 years old.

The good news is that, at the time of writing, about £4000 of a £5000 target appeared to already have been pledged in just 14 hours of the campaign page at gofundme.com going live.
