Roadworks on the cards for Cobden Avenue

cobden ave temp lightsDrivers have been negotiating roadworks as repairs are made to a sewer, said to have been ruptured by the falling tree which blocked Cobden Avenue on September 22  - and it looks as if further work is on the cards for Cobden Avenue…

On October 16/17 the council are scheduled to do tree safety work resulting in the road being closed between Midanbury Lane and Cobbett Road.

On October 20 BT are scheduled to be renewing two telegraph poles damaged by the fallen tree, which will involve temporary lights.

On October 20 – 26 carriageway resurfacing is scheduled at the junction to Cobbett Road to “23m north east from Midanbury Lane”.

And ongoing roadworks, with “delays possible” as part of the council’s roads programme, are scheduled from October 16 – January 15 at the top of Cobden Avenue.

• In other local roadworks news, Harcourt Road sees two-way traffic lights from October 13-19 while Southern Electric carry out work.
