Polish market comes to Southampton

There’s a chance for Southampton residents to taste Eastern European delicacies at the Polish and eastern European Market, coming to Southampton for three days in August.

Polish bread, meat, soups, pancakes, éclairs, candles, Russian dolls and grilled cheese savouries are just some of the delicacies and products that will be available.

There will also be a range of biscuits and tarts baked on site by Sebastian Marec and for those with a sweet tooth there will be some Polish fudge, caramel, dried fruits and nuts.

You can also take a seat at the Polish Street Bar and Cafe and enjoy Polish beers and ciders and traditional Polish sausage to make the break complete.

Southampton will be one of the first cities in the UK to host the event. Ian Rothwell, Southampton City Centre Manager said: “This is a great opportunity for the city’s shoppers to experience the eastern European culture. With an increased Polish community in Southampton, the market hopes to bring a united multi-cultural aspect to Southampton’s society.”

The market will be held in Bargate from 9.30am - 5.30pm on Saturday 18 and Monday 20 August and from 10am — 4pm on Sunday 19 August.
