Public meeting to discuss Kent Road traffic problems

kent road lorriesKent Road Action Group, which wants to reduce large HGV use and solve other traffic issues on this St Denys residential street, will be holding a public meeting on Thursday, February 1 at 7pm.

Thirty-five households completed and returned a recent Kent Road residents’ survey, with 94% reporting speeding, 83% reporting houses “shaking or vibrating”, 71% experiencing traffic noise during unsociable hours, and 43% reporting damage to property.

Various solutions have been suggested including: banning HGVs; introducing weight limits; better speed enforcement and other traffic calming measures; road repairs; and possible parking restrictions.

February’s meeting is set to include updates from local councillors, Galliford Try/Southern Water and the committee.
