Locals recently said goodbye to Ainsley Adams. Here is a brief tribute, courtesy of the 'Bitterne DOES NOT have a Triangle' Facebook page.
Ainsley Adams: 1950 - 2018
"Last Friday [Feb 9, 2018), we gathered to say 'farewell' to a lovely man, and an ex Bitterne Parker. He owned and ran "Ainsley's Darkroom", which was located in one of the offices in the sail loft, that was behind Charlie's chip shop, in the Triangle, latterly working from Priory Road, in St. Denys.
A fine photographer and a wizard in the darkroom, he was a gentle soul, and a proper character. He was a great supporter of local music, and captured many local "musoes" on celluloid. His wry smile and dry humour, will be greatly missed.
R.I.P Ainsley, you were a true gentleman."
There are some memories of The Old Boathouse, and indeed Ainsley's darkroom, including a contribution from him, in the comments of this bitternepark.info piece from 2011. Ed.
