A story of isolation and survival from the heatwave summer of 1976 to the '80s, Our Endless Numbered Days won the 2015 Desmond Elliot Prize and was nominated for Edinburgh First Book Award. It was also a Richard & Judy Book Club Pick in Spring 2016, and a Waterstones Book Club book. In Swimming Lessons, the real truths about a marriage between a lecturer and his student float to the surface; the book, published last year, is currently on the shortlist for the Royal Society of Literature's Encore Award. Bitter Orange will be published in August.
