Southampton Stand Up to Racism (SSUR) is organising a local 'Stand Up To Trump' protest for Friday, July 13 – the day of a ‘Together Against Trump' national demonstration against the US president’s expected visit to Britain that weekend.

SSUR explains on its Facebook page that it's "the local group of a national campaign that opposes Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and the scapegoating of migrants”.
SSUR says the local protest will be one of many taking place across the country.

The London demonstration is expected to be significant, although it’s likely Trump won’t be nearby: “The official word is that he’ll visit three areas of the UK, and that he will be avoiding London as much as possible,” reports Metro.
The Southampton protest assembles for 4pm on Friday, July 13 outside Southampton Civic Centre - details (Facebook).
The London protest assembles for a march from 2pm by the BBC at Portland Place, and there’s a rally at 5pm in Trafalgar Square - details (Facebook).
