It’s likely “deep excavation” will be needed to repair Dimond Road, where a hole returned in the middle of a junction in late April.

The collapse is beneath the road surface at the junction with Sandringham Road and Bond Road.
There is also significant cracking in the nearby pavement on Sandringham Road, although it's unclear if this is linked.
Barriers surround the hole in the road, although drivers approaching from some directions often seem confused as to whether they need to treat it as a roundabout, or take the shortest possible route.
A spokesperson for the council’s contractor Balfour Beatty said traffic management had been in place for a while as the carriageway keeps subsiding.
She said: “We have dug out and reinstated the carriageway on a few occasions but the subsidence reoccurs so we are in the process of investigating and eliminating various potential causes.
“It is likely the work required to repair will require a deep excavation so will need traffic management and a diversion route and this will have to be programmed in taking in to account other planned works for the highway network.
“We will be clearer on this shortly and will send an update to residents.”
Similar major work underway for over a week now in Woodmill Lane, close to Witts Hill.
