It's a major fundraiser as well as being a great spectator sport right on our doorsteps – yes it's the 29th annual charity duck race on bank holiday Monday (Aug 27).

The annual duck race sees members of the public sponsor individual plastic ducks, which are released altogether – about 2,500 of them! - at Mansbridge.
They then ‘race’ to Woodmill.
The winning duck's 'owner' walks away with a cash prize.
Organised by Southampton Solent Lions and Swanwick Lions clubs, the race usually attracts large crowds while raising cash for worthy causes.
The race starts from 2pm but you can sponsor ducks in the run up to the big event: there's often a stall in Riverside Park near the Woodmill car park where you can do this.
