City Mission, which runs foodbanks around Southampton, has put out an urgent appeal for stock donations.

The charity said on Facebook earlier in August:
“No stock of soup, rice pudding/custard, spreads (jam, marmite, sandwich etc). UHT long life milk or toiletries.
"Very low on tinned meats for reheating.
"You can donate to any of the venues on the link provided or one of our collection points in selected sainsburys and co-op's.”
Southampton City Mission’s Basics Bank runs at The Old Chemist, Bitterne Park Triangle on Wednesdays, where you can donate much needed food and clothing from 10am-3pm.
