The commemorative silhouette of a First World War soldier that had to be removed earlier in the week after being vandalised has now been repaired and was back in Riverside Park on Thursday (Nov 8).

It's one of 17 cast iron figures around the city commemorating service members who gave their lives, and those who returned home, marking the centenary of the end of the war in 1918.
It's believed that the vandalism took place on Sunday night or in the early hours of Monday, and the council removed the silhouette on Monday.
At the time a council spokesperson said: "It's a great shame that a small minority of individuals undertake actions such as this. We extend our thanks to the members of the public who reported this issue."
