The Friends of Cobbett Road Library host their 8th annual Christmas Fayre – the biggest day in their calendar – on Saturday afternoon (Nov 24, 2018), with a host of activities for all ages, including Santa, stalls, stories, cakes, face painting and more.

Previously held in the morning, the new afternoon slot has been chosen for the extra space and time it will provide.
The stalls – including a variety of crafts by local artists, a dedicated coffee table by local independent company Espressopedia, and information and items from the Bevois Mount History Society – will be in the new Community Room.
Cakes and tea, including mince pies, will be provided by the Friends themselves, and a tombola will round off the offerings: “Expect good odds!” say the Friends.
In the main library, Santa will be in his grotto at 2:30pm and 3:30pm; suitably literary gifts will be £1.
And at 3pm, Santa's Elf will present story time.
Bauble-making is this year's children's craft activity, and it will be available during the latter half of the event in the new Children's Library. The room will also host the ever-popular face-painting table (available all afternoon).
Rounding off the things to do will be a Christmas-themed bookish quiz, designed so that all ages can take part.
