Southampton City Mission, which runs local clothes and food banks known as ‘Basics Banks’, has listed shortages of a number of items.

Volunteer sorts tins at local foodbank in Bitterne Park, Southampton
Clothes bank shortages include men’s and women’s underwear and socks, and men’s shoes and trainers – especially smaller sizes.
And there’s also been a recent appeal for tinned meat, soup, tinned rice pudding, tinned spaghetti, tinned sweet corn and other veg, jars of ‘cook in’ sauce, coffee, toiletries and UHT milk.
In a Facebook post the charity said that the value of the food going out the door to the city’s foodbanks is between £2000 and £2500 in one week.
In Bitterne Park you can donate food at The Old Chemist foodbank, and clothes at the Ascension Church, both on Wednesdays from 10am-3pm. More details of these and other donation points are here. http://www.southamptoncitymission.co.uk/venues
There's also a donation point in the corridor at the front entrance ot St Denys Church & Centre.
