Police are asking residents in the Woodmill and Riverside areas if they have private CCTV that could assist their investigation after a woman was raped in Riverside Park on Sunday night (Dec 2).
She was raped in the park just off of Woodmill Lane, between 11pm and 11.50pm.
Detectives are specifically looking for footage from homes on Wessex Lane, Woodmill Lane and Manor Farm Road recorded on Sunday evening between 10pm and 1am.
Officers want to hear from anyone who was driving through this area between 10pm and 1am on Sunday night who has dash cams in their vehicle.
Chief Inspector Phil Lamb said: "We have been carrying out a number of enquiries in the Riverside Park area today and our appeal for information and witnesses continues.
"We are particularly keen on hearing from residents of Wessex Lane, Woodmill Lane and Manor Farm Road who have private CCTV that captures pedestrians on the pavement. We would also like to hear from drivers with dash cam footage.
"You may not live in this area but were you travelling through on Sunday night?
"If you have CCTV or footage from your dash cam between the relevant times, please could we ask that you get in touch with us so that we can review it.
"Just call 101 and quote Operation Scorch or 44180450724. Thank you."
Officers from Southampton North Neighbourhood Policing Team continue to carry out patrols in the area. They are encouraging the public to approach them with any information or concerns regarding the investigation.
