Mobile phone stolen during Portswood robbery

Gordon Avenue sign, Portswood, SouthamptonPolice are investigating a robbery that took place in Portswood on Gordon Avenue.

At around 10.30pm on Friday (Feb 22) a 22-year-old was walking along Gordon Avenue, near to the junction of Livingstone Road, when a man approached him on a mountain bike.

The man asked the victim for the time before assaulting him with an object described as being tennis racquet-shaped and covered with a pillow case.

Fearing for his safety, the victim handed over his mobile phone and his drawstring bag, which contained miscellaneous items.

The man then cycled off towards The Avenue.

He was described as:

  • White
  • 5ft 11ins tall
  • Aged 19 to 23 years
  • Slim
  • Wearing a light grey zip up hoody
