Shared use cycle path planned for Triangle

cycle sign 200pxThe council is proposing a shared use pedestrian and cycle path linking Whitworth Crescent and Cobden Bridge, according to a public notice at the Triangle.

It appears that the shared use path could join up with the cycle path over the bridge, possibly avoiding the traffic lights.

Additionally, the plan seems to be to link the cycle path over the bridge on the north side to the south-eastern point of the Triangle island.

Cllr Jacqui Rayment, cabinet member for environment & transport at Southampton City Council, was asked for comment.
