The city’s Clothes Bank, which is based in Bitterne Park, has issued an urgent appeal for men’s clothes, and particularly shoes, t-shirts, and socks.

The Clothes Bank is run by Southampton City Mission and serves the whole of the city to maximise stock and choice for clients who could not otherwise afford clothing.
It’s open at the Church of Ascension on Wednesdays from 10am – 3pm, when clothing donations can be made.
Writing on City Mission’s Facebook page, Stuart Ganney commented: “Please bring as much as you can, especially shoes. At the Community Cafe on Sunday we saw lots of homeless men whose shoes socks and trousers were all soaked by the recent heavy rain.”
You can also donate food for the food bank at the Old Chemist at Bitterne Park Triangle, also on Wednesdays at the same times.
