The Big Bike Revival aims to inspire people to start, or return to cycling.
The idea for street closures, "where the local community will celebrate healthier, safer residential streets free from traffic for the day", has apparently come from St Denys residents attending various Clean Air Café sessions.
Activities for the bike celebration will include:
- Bike Doctor by Bike2Basics - free safety checks and basic repairs
- Smoothie bike - make your own delicious smoothie using bike
- power!
- Adapted bikes to try out - hand pedal and tricycle adapted cycles
- to test ride in a safe and enclosed sports pitch
- Trying out a balance bike to practice balancing skills
- Ditch the Stabilisers session from 1.30-3pm (booking via Eventbrite required)
The regular Repair Café will be running from 10.30am until 1pm for electrical, mechanical and clothing repairs inside the community centre, while the Big Bike Celebration takes place from 10am-3pm.
