Locals enjoyed the sunshine on Priory Road north on Saturday (July 20) with a spot of al fresco dining on a street often clogged with cars and used as a rat run during rush hours, but which had been closed to traffic for the afternoon.

Children were able to play together in the road safetly, food and drink was shared, a band struck up, and neighbours came out of their houses to socialise.

Meanwhile there was more community activity at the end of the southern part of Priory Road, where a small section by The Junction was closed to cars - pictured above..
There it was more about bikes and cycling, as Transition Southampton hosted their Big Bike Celebration as part of the Big Bike Revival. You can read more about that in our previous piece here.
